There is a short business meeting and then we may have a presentation or a round-table. Some of our presenters in the past have been people from outside our community while others are our own members who have experienced something they share with the club. Occasionally we will schedule a field trip.
Our round-tables are one of the favorite programs because everyone participates and we have fun telling of our experiences with a timely genealogy subject. The goal is to help each other understand how to do some particular research or solve a problem getting information about an ancestor.
The one exception is our annual holiday get-together which has been held at the Orchid Club. We do not have a meeting but share a pitch-in meal during lunch-time with holiday music and fellowship.
Below are some recent programs and the schedule for the remainder of 2007:
-All About the D.A.R
-The Ocala Family History Center - what it offers to the genealogist
-The Marion County Genealogical Society- The Cemetery Survey Project
-Roundtable - How the U.S. Census has helped with research
-Roundtable - Who has a “brick wall“ to overcome?
